Dental Preferred Provider Organization (DPPO)
A DPPO is a dental plan that uses a designated provider network, but your employees will not be required to stay within the network. Although DPPOs can provide members with more freedom, there is often a higher premium associated with that flexibility.
Dental Health Maintenance Organization (DHMO)
A DHMO is a more restrictive type of group dental plan when it comes to the dental professionals employees can visit, but it is more affordable at the individual level. With A DHMO, your employees are asked to designate a dentist or dental care facility as their primary care provider when they enroll. The provider will receive a monthly rate to provide services to your group’s members at a reduced cost. Although the premiums can be significantly lower, out-of-network procedures will not be covered.
